Joining ProMatura in 2008, Derrick has worked as a caller in the consumer research call center. Within a few years, he was promoted to NIC research associate. In 2015, he was promoted to CORE data specialist. Derrick specializes in researching age-qualified communities. He has collected vast amounts of data for CORE (Collaborative Retirement Econometrics), a database from the Ontario Retirement Communities Association. The data include occupancies, unit counts, market rates, and actual rates. Derrick recently promoted to feasibility studies analyst.

Derrick has an associate of arts degree from Northwest Community College. He recently earned his bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration at the University of Mississippi.

He is also an accomplished musician—a singer and pianist.
