Bernie Smith

Chief Operating Officer

Bernie Smith has more than 30 years financial management and development experience. He has structured private placements for real estate investments, and developed a number of apartment buildings, commercial properties and residential housing developments.

Mr. Smith has conducted a variety of market assessment and financial feasibility projects for all-age and age-qualified housing and possesses a thorough understanding of the various financial conduits available to housing developers. Mr. Smith developed the ProMatura Group Snapshot, a popular "first look" at a senior housing demand in a given market. Under Smith's leadership, ProMatura has conducted market assessments of housing projects throughout the US, France, Canada and Mexico.

Smith has been involved in a variety of ProMatura Group research projects including project profiling characteristics and preferences of residents, assessing demographic and economic characteristics and their impact on the success for age-targeted housing.

Mr. Smith has assisted housing developers with site assessment, site layout and product and community design.

Smith has conducted numerous focus groups with potential residents of active adult and independent living communities and has conducted marketing training with residential community management and staff.

As ProMatura's Chief Operating Officer, Smith is responsible for corporate development and shares the firm's business development and marketing responsibilities.

Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance and did graduate work in Economics at the University of Mississippi.
