Edie Smith

Senior VP and Director of Research

Edie Smith is responsible for the implementation and management of seniors housing and consumer products-related projects.

Her expertise in statistical and data analysis and use and management of research methodologies ensures accurate results for ProMatura clients.

Smith was integrally involved in three recent national studies conducted for the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industries (NIC). These included a housing survey of 3,500 60+ households; a survey of 1,023 assisted living residents across the United States; and a survey of 1,500 households 45 to 64 about their responsibilities for their parents or older relatives. Smith has also completed numerous market feasibility projects and image and awareness studies for seniors housing developers and owners in large and small markets across the United States.

Before joining ProMatura Group, Smith was Supervisor of Actuarial Services for Central Benefits Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio. There she was responsible for the development of renewal rating methodology for both health and life insurance group policies, and estimating the company’s monthly claims liability.

Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics, with a minor in computer science, at The University of Alabama.
