Founded and based in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1984. ProMatura has completed projects in every U.S. state, 11 provinces of Canada, and throughout Mexico, Europe, Central America, China and Japan.  


Margaret Wylde Ph.D.

Margaret Wylde founded ProMatura Group, LLC in 1984. She serves on the board of directors of the American Seniors Housing Association and has served on the boards of the American Society on Aging, National Association of Senior Living Industries, and Seniors Housing Council of the National Association of Home Builders. She is a frequent speaker at conferences throughout the United States and Canada.

Margaret is a faculty member at the Erickson School at the University of Maryland in the Executive Development program for the age-qualified housing industry. She has been a faculty member since the program's inception in 1999 by Johns Hopkins University/National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry.

The author of five books and dozens of technical papers and articles, Margaret is also a contributor to trade and business publications and scholarly journals. Her publications include Right House, Right Place, Right Time: the Community and Lifestyle Preferences of the 45+ Housing Market (BuilderBooks, 2008); Boomers on the Horizon: Housing Preferences of the 55+ Home Buyer (BuilderBooks in 2002); and Building for a Lifetime: The Design and Construction of Fully Accessible Homes (The Taunton Press, 1994).

Bobby Towery

Bobby Towery has over 30 years of experience leading large domestic and international organizations involved in global and international engagements. A strategic leader, Bobby has significant experience and expertise in leading the design process and implementing cultural change that resulted in greatly increased organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Key skills include: Strategic Leadership, Building Partnerships, Leading and Managing Change, Crisis Management, Visionary Process Engineering and Supply and Maintenance Chain Management.


During his 30-year Army career, he served at bases across the U.S., including Fort Riley, KS, Fort Stewart, GA, Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Polk, LA.  His instructing experience includes serving as assistant professor of military science and battalion executive officer at the University of Mississippi.  Bobby’s last military posting was as the Deputy Commandant for the United States Army War College located in historic Carlisle, PA.  His military awards and commendations are lengthy, and include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for Valor.


Bobby received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) and Master of Education from The University of Mississippi and Masters of Strategic Studies from the Army War College.


Mr. Towery joined the ProMatura Group in February 2015 and is responsible for management of the operations of the company.

Edie Smith

Executive Vice President & Director of Research

Edie Smith manages a wide range of projects related to 50+ housing and consumer products. Her expertise in statistical and data analysis and research methodologies ensures accurate results for ProMatura's clients.

Edie has been integrally involved in recent national studies for the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry. These included a housing survey of 3,500 60+ households; a survey of 1,023 assisted living residents across the United States; and a survey of 1,500 households in the 45 to 64 age group about their responsibilities for their parents or other relatives. She has also completed numerous market feasibility projects and image and awareness studies for 50+ housing developers and owners in markets across the United States.

Edie formerly was supervisor of actuarial services for Central Benefits Insurance Co. in Columbus, Ohio.

Edie holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics with a minor in computer science from the University of Alabama.
